Charlie is the founder of Alpoholics which has just finished its 7th winter season. Charlie has an upper second class (work hard play hard) Honours degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is a former British Universities Freestyle Snowboard Champion. He is also the founder of La Plagne’s premier mountain top apres-ski event so be sure to catch him in action at La Bergerie during your stay!
Jess is our energiser bunny manager and, having completed her 1st winter with Alpoholics, now has 3 seasons in La Plagne under her belt working in chalets of different shapes & sizes. Jess is super smiley and personable and nothing is ever too much trouble. She has excellent local knowledge of the resort and ski area and loves to pop into the chalets for a cup of tea or a glass of wine with her guests.
Known to his peers as "Smiley", Lewis will be taking charge of all things toy related this winter with his trademark chuckle and general positive demeanour. This includes running our Ski/Snowboard test/rental centres, an area in which he has unrivalled passion and experience. Lewis has been working for UK Snowsports retail giant Ellis Brigham/TSA for the past 5 years and is known for being an proper ski technician wizard and general product knowledge geek.
Fran had the challenging task of running Chalet Orshanti last year and smashed it so hard she'll be joining the management team next winter.This will be her 3rd winter season in the Alps, having previously worked in les Arcs. Only 27, Francesca already has a decade of experience within the hospitality & catering industry, from cheffing to restaurant manager. Her fun and upbeat attitude and her meticulous attention to detail means she's ready to ensure our guests experience with Alpoholics is the best!
Nick returns in winter 2017/18 for his 2nd season at the Helm of our Flagship Chalet in Plagne 1800. Nick is a vastly experienced chef having plied his trade in hotels and restaurants at 2 AA rosette level for 5 years and has a real passion for good quality food and using local produce whenever possible. Nick will arrive fresh from a 2nd summer cheffing in a 3AA Rosette restaurant on the private Scilly Isle of Tresco which is owned by Prince Charles and frequented by the rich & famous.
Luke is the final piece of our 2017-18 culinary puzzle and we are very excited to welcome him to the team. He comes from the 2AA Rosette, Good Food Guide & Michelin recommended Carlton Riverside Restaurant where he has worked for many years with Michelin starred and TV personality Mary-Anne Gilchrist. He has a passion for all types of cooking and sourcing the best ingredients with which to create his inspired dishes.
Jenny rejoins our dream team for winter 2017/18 having run Chalet Yogi single handedly to critical acclaim last winter. Jenny's food is scumptious and she specialises in cakes and deserts. Her chocolate orange cake in particular is to die for. She is an accomplished skier and also knows her way around a snowboard. Jenny somehow manages to acheive ultra chalet efficency whist still having plenty of time to devote to getting to know her guests. Jenny has a degree in Zoology and has worked at Birdworld and Africa alive giving feeding talks and coordinating animal displays.
Harry will be working with Alpoholics after his 1st season in Meribel. Together with Florence, he worked as the chef in a 14 bed chalet in the heart of the three valleys. Harry has chef experience in corporate kitchens and most recently a small 4 star hotel in Abergavenny Wales, where he worked as chef de partie. Harry has recently aimed to refine his skills as a pastry chef; running a small local cake business alongside Florence.
Florence will be working alongside Harry as chalet host. At only 22 Florence already has 8 years behind her, working in hospitality. Starting as a waitress and kitchen prep at a local Michelin star at 14 and working her way to catering college and then pastry chef for a local 4 star hotel. She has since turned away from professional cooking and is currently Front of House Duty Manager at the same hotel, but still likes to spend her spare time baking cakes and cooking for family and friends.

The food was top restaurant quality- Nick is a phenomenal chef. Fran & Jason were attentive to our every need, kind, fun and excellent hosts.A phenomenal chalet experience! “Great chalet, superb staff” This was our 4th stay in Chalet Blanchot, which says a lot! Excellent food, location and a ton of slopes for a wide range of abilities and ages. Chalet is well-equipped with a hot-tub, Play Station and a selection of TV/movies (Flight of the Conchords recommended). Staff are friendly, helpful and have put up with untidy teens and an over-friendly dog over the years. My brother-in-law is especially fond of La Mine pub up the road.
Have booked another Alpoholics chalet (as we are a bigger group) for this year's ski holiday as they really are hard to beat.

The snow was great but so was the accommodation at Chalet Blanchot - a lovely little Chalet in a great position.
Holly's welcome smile continued for the whole week and made us feel perfectly relaxed and Luke's food was unbelievably brilliant every night

“Epic location and legendary service” Yogi really is a ski in/ski out chalet. The hot tub is amazing and basically located on the piste, allowing you to raise your glass to passers by with a suitable smug grin on your face. Scotty's is also only a short walk away for some apres and live music. Great location - full stop. I'll definitely be back!
